Fiscal Monitoring Program Administrator
The incumbent will report to the Office of Administration and Finance's Grants Program Administration Unit and support the Fiscal Monitoring Unit. They will be responsible for the fiscal monitoring of grantees receiving federal and state-funded grant contracts throughout New York State, including counties, other local jurisdictions, and not-for-profit organizations.

Auditor 1 levels based on required experience :
Required experience : professional experience in accounting / auditing or financial internal or field auditing, where you were responsible for the full range of activities in the design and / or review, analysis and management of accounting systems, resulting in the preparation of, or recommendations on, financial statements in accord with generally accepted accounting principles.
Substitutions :
NOTE : Courses such as business law, economics, statistics, and most finance courses although completed as part of an accounting curriculum, cannot be counted toward the 24 semester credit hours. Transcripts will be required for appointment. Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education / U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. Dependent upon qualifications, if appointed as a trainee, successful completion of a one-year or two-year traineeship leads to appointment as an Auditor 1, SG-18.
REASSIGNMENT / TRANSFER
Current New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services employee with one year or more permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b / c service as an Auditor 1 and are interested in reassignment; OR current New York State employees with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b / c service in a position eligible for transfer under section 70.1 or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law.
NOTE : Employees on the Civil Service eligible list will be considered. If you are on the eligible list and not reachable, you may be eligible for another appointment method. This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in an NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
NOTE : Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and / or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and / or increase in working hours, locations and / or duties.
