About the Role :

The Quad City Steamwheelers are seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Intern to assist in executing the team's digital media strategy across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), TikTok, and Snapchat. This internship provides full immersion into the operations of a professional sports organization, offering hands-on experience in content creation, marketing, and fan engagement. The selected candidate will work closely with the marketing, communications, and leadership teams to enhance brand visibility and strengthen our online presence.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support the maintenance and execution of the social media content calendar.
• Proofread, edit, and assist with posting content across all platforms.
• Collaborate with the digital team to develop and refine social media strategies that drive engagement and brand awareness.
• Capture and produce engaging photo and video content during practices, games, and special events.
• Provide real-time coverage during games and events across all social channels.
• Research emerging digital trends and recommend innovative ways to elevate our online presence.
• Partner with digital team members to plan and execute weekly and seasonal content strategies.
• Assist in writing and editing copy for steamwheelersfootball.com and related communications.
• Participate in team meetings and provide creative input while accepting and applying constructive feedback.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
