Stantec is currently looking for hard-working, dependable laborers willing and able to follow direction to become members of our team. Our teams work on a variety of projects that include Stream Restoration, Wetland Creation, Invasive Species Removal, Felling Trees, Excavation, Ground Protection Installation and Grade Work. We have an in-depth safety program and will train our team members in safe work practices and procedures. Stantec offers advancement opportunities within the company. We are looking for people who are career-minded and want to be trained in all aspects of environmental construction / restoration.
Your Key Responsibilities
Operating construction tools and / or small equipment
Assisting equipment operators, carpenters, craft workers, and other skilled labor when necessary
Prepping construction sites by removing obstacles and hazards
Loading and unloading construction materials
Removing, fill, or compact earth
Follow instructions and learn from on-the-job training when necessary
Performing site clean-up
Following blueprints and building plans to meet clients' needs
Measuring, cutting, and / or shaping wood, plastic, and other materials
Instructing and directing laborers and other construction helpers
Making Concrete forms, forming slabs, walls, and structural slabs
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Must have ability to travel overnight; Operators may be required to spend up to 1-4 nights per week out of town working at remote locations for assignments
Typical field work environments require the ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time on uneven terrain, lift and move items and equipment up to 50 pounds, and climb a ladder
Basic Survey Knowledge- Trimble and laser level knowledge, preferred not mandatory
Adhering to corporate policies, operate through the proper management channels, and act in the best interest of firm
Good driving record and valid driver's license are required
Operating a Global Positioning System, preferred not mandatory
Standard First Aid, CPR, and / or Red Card
Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions
Positive, safety-first attitude
Education and Experience
High School Diploma, GED or Associates
1 to 4 years of construction experience
Pay is based on experience
