Position : Assembler I
Location : Pomona, CA
Duration : 12 months
Shift : 6 AM - 4 : 30 PM
Position Summary
The position of Assembler I is within our CMI business unit located in California. Under general supervision, this role is responsible for setting up and performing adjustments to equipment used in support of manufacturing. Ability to diagnose and perform routine technical troubleshooting is required.
This job description will be reviewed periodically and is subject to change by management.
Required Skills
- 2–5 years assembling, filling, and packaging reagents experience
- No blueprints experience needed
- Pharma experience ideal but not required
- Packaging experience required; must be able to read work orders
- Food manufacturing environment experience acceptable
- Software skills : minimal Excel, basic computer skills
- Most documentation is printed and handwritten (not digital)
Responsibilities
May be tasked with completing set-up operations for assembly, packaging, and prep operations in compliance with approved documentation and QSR, including :Line clearance
Equipment preventative maintenanceHousekeepingPerform routine tasks following detailed written or verbal instructionsAssemble, repair, inspect, and / or test products per written instructionsAssist Engineering and Maintenance teams with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of equipmentComplete and ensure accuracy of documentation related to manufactured products and equipment maintenanceClean, perform, and document routine equipment maintenance and minor repairsDispose of hazardous waste materials in designated hazardous waste areasSupport continuous improvement activities (e.g., 5S, OEE)Support new equipment installation and validationAssist with problem-solving related to product quality as requiredRead and comprehend basic instructions and work-related documentsDemonstrate strong customer service skills while maintaining product qualityParticipate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions under supervisor or manager guidanceCollaborate with Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, QC Technicians, and Management to identify and implement process improvementsWork on semi-routine assignments requiring judgment to resolve problems and make routine recommendationsUnderstand quality consequences of improper job performance and recognize potential device defects related to manufacturing and testing activitiesExhibit professional behavior with internal and external business associates in alignment with company policiesCarry out duties in compliance with established business policiesPerform other duties as assigned based on business needsPosition Overview
Very detailed work. Will use Masterflex—set it up and give volume to fill. Have a guideline to reference. Lots of paperwork. Basic knowledge of GMP, filling, and packaging reagents required. Basic math skills needed. Lifting no more than 15 lbs. On feet all day, rotating through tasks throughout the day
Minimum Qualifications | Education / Experience
High school diploma or GED0–3 years related experienceBasic communication and written skillsLimited judgment required in troubleshooting proven processesExperience working in a quality system environmentPreferred Qualifications
