Job Title : Data Modeler

About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to support enterprise data initiatives for a major U.S. healthcare payer, with heavy emphasis on Medicare Advantage and core payer operational systems. The ideal candidate possesses strong data modeling expertise, a deep understanding of modern cloud-based data architectures, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable, high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models for enterprise systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into scalable data structures.
Ensure data integrity, normalization, optimization , and overall model quality.
Partner with ETL developers and data engineers to implement models in data warehouses, EDH, and data lakes .
Document data dictionaries, metadata, relationships, and business rules per enterprise standards.
Support data governance , privacy, and compliance requirements (PHI / PII).
Perform data profiling , assess data quality, and define DQ rules and transformation logic.
Required Skills :
5+ years in data modeling, data architecture, or database design.
Hands-on experience with ERwin, PowerDesigner , or similar modeling tools.
Strong SQL skills (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, normalization, relational data structures , and data warehousing.
Experience with Azure Cloud , Data Lakes, and Enterprise Data Hubs.
Strong ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications.
Knowledge of API data formats (JSON, XML).
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with healthcare payer data (claims, provider, member).
Background in data governance and MDM .
Expertise in performance tuning and optimisation.
