The Role :

This role works as a key member of the Gas and Regulatory Accounting team, responsible for leading the team and ensuring accurate and timely accounting of the Company's regulatory mechanisms. This position works closely with the Gas and Regulatory Accounting Lead to oversee the day-to-day activities and deliverables of the team, which includes monthly accounting close responsibilities, the performance of effective internal controls, quarterly reporting deliverables and various ad hoc reporting and projects. This position reports directly to the Accounting Director and will work closely with other accounting teams, various business departments, and upper management.

Day to Day :

• Manages the gas and regulatory accounting department and oversees the accounting for cost of gas, gas storage, gas reserves, environmental liabilities, environmental credits and allowances, regulatory accounting, and unbilled revenue.
• Oversees reporting to various agencies at the state, federal, and international level.
• Participates in the preparation of regulatory filings with various State public utility commissions.
• Performs research, analysis, and review of regulatory accounting matters.
• Participates in economic, financial, and technical analyses, and forecasts, which may require the creation of ad-hoc reports.
• Provides management with sound recommendations for solutions to complex regulatory accounting and reporting matters, based on in-depth research and critical thinking, professional experience, benchmarking and / or consultation with Company and industry peers or specialists.
• Leads collaboration across departments, and act as a consultation resource for regulatory accounting issues to ensure timely and effective resolution of accounting matters.
• Provides support for both internal and external audits.
• Completes internal control procedures to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
• Identifies and leads opportunities to increase efficiency and automation of accounting and reporting functions.
• Demonstrates appropriate leadership and decision-making behaviors.
• Maintains technical accounting knowledge and personal skill development.
• Leads or participates in ad hoc projects as required.
• Supports the Company's commitment to a culture of safe work practices.

Base salary range : $120,450.00 - $171,650.00 per year, depending on qualifications

Annual Target Incentive : Manager, 15.0% target

Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% - 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
