Insurance Follow-up Specialist

A company is looking for a Professional Billing - Insurance Follow-up & Denial Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

Follow up on insurance claims to resolve unpaid balances and denials by contacting payers and patients

Review insurance remittance advices and research denial reasons to prepare well-written appeals

Maintain compliance with billing requirements and keep current on payer requirements through ongoing education

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

Associate's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred

Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare-related field, preferably in health insurance billing

Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing programs

Knowledge of medical insurance, CPT, and ICD codes
