About the Role
As a Program Aide in the Sports and Fitness program at The WOW Center, you'll work closely with Lead Instructors to support individuals as they participate in sports and health activities to facilitate communication, expression of emotions, physical and cognitive skills, self-awareness, and personal growth.
Desired Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or higher (required)Experience
Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferredSkills & Abilities

Program & Classroom Support
Support Lead Instructors in carrying out daily program routinesAssist with classroom management while ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all participantsStep in to lead the classroom when the Instructor is unavailableAssist during emergencies and follow all safety proceduresInstruction & Individual Support
Help facilitate group and one-on-one activities that promote learning, independence, and skill developmentAssess individual needs and provide guidance to encourage participation in program activitiesTailor instructional approaches to accommodate both individual and group settingsEncourage active participation in activitiesHealth, Wellness & Physical Fitness
Support program activities that promote healthy living, exercise, and physical fitnessAssist in developing monthly instructional and lesson plans focused on healthy lifestylesEnable individuals to explore various exercise methods and physical activitiesIncorporate participation in sports, fitness routines, and structured movement activitiesIntegrate use of the gym and multipurpose court into classroom routinesSupport individuals in maintaining healthy habits, including appropriate weight management and nutrition awarenessWeigh individuals on a monthly basis and accurately record weights in designated logsDocumentation & Communication
Track attendance and maintain accurate daily records (e.g., bathroom breaks, therapies, field trips)Provide updates to social services staff regarding participant progress, behaviors, and health or safety concernsSupport Therap data entry, documentation, and goal trackingFacilities & Equipment
