[job_card.job_description]Serve as the primary technical authority within the assigned project. Provide mentorship and direction while working alongside of Project Engineers Project Coordinators and Implementations Specialist ensuring standardization quality and efficiency. Act as the senior escalation point for complex design or implementation challenges (3rd-level escalations). Design Phase : Review and create accurate scalable Bills of Materials (BOMs). Participate in sales development engagements to translate customer needs into actionable designs. Develop account-specific engineering programs to support long-term success. Implementation Phase : Manage critical escalations and ensure technical solutions are implemented effectively. Initiate and create Field Change Orders (FCOs) in response to evolving project conditions. Closeout Phase : Approve vendor invoices to ensure alignment with deliverables and scope. Lead After Action Review meetings to capture lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement. Finalize and update RAF (Required Asset Form) documentation. Collaborate with sales and solution teams to scope and quote new opportunities. Ensure all proposed solutions are technically sound feasible and aligned with client requirements. Participate in customer meetings and contribute technical expertise during proposal development. Maintain high standards across all technical deliverables. Ensure documentation is thorough accurate and aligned with industry standards (e.g. BICSI TIA / EIA). Champion process improvements and technical innovation within the team. Embrace and support Computacenters mission and core values. 5 years of experience in low voltage or ICT infrastructure engineering. Legally eligible to work in the United States 5 years of experience in low voltage or ICT infrastructure engineering. Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring technical project teams. Strong understanding of structured cabling systems network infrastructure and low voltage technologies. Proficient in BOM development field change documentation and project closeout procedures. Excellent problem-solving communication and stakeholder engagement skills. BICSI certification (e.g. RCDD) or equivalent desired. Experience with construction drawings CAD or Revit Familiarity with project management software (e.g. MS Project Smartsheet). Experience working in a matrix-style project organization.
About the role
The Project Engineer (PE) serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert supporting multiple accounts with high-level engineering oversight. This position enhances the traditional Project Engineer role by incorporating leadership presales collaboration and ownership across the full project lifecycledesign implementation and closeout.
The PE plays a key role in both engineering execution and customer engagement. They guide technical decisions ensure quality and consistency assist with project scoping and quoting and manage escalations throughout the delivery process. By bridging engineering project management and sales teams the PE helps drive successful outcomes for both the company and its clients.
Annual Salary Range : $100K - $120K USD
