Shop Manager

Join the V3 Team and take your career to the next level! We are looking for a Shop Manager to support our Construction Group in our West Chicago, IL office. V3 Companies' Construction and Ecological Restoration Practice Areas perform a wide range of services related to construction of site infrastructure, wetland mitigation and native landscape including installations and long-term maintenance. Equipment utilized for this work includes a fleet of vehicles along with yellow iron, small tractors, skid steers, power tools, trucks, trailers, and other miscellaneous power equipment.

Shop Manager - This supervisory role is crucial for maintaining our heavy construction equipment, including yellow iron, trucks, and ecological restoration tools. The Shop Manager will be the primary point of contact for all site-related activities and will ensure the smooth operation of our 4-acre West Chicago property, while also assisting in mechanic responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the yard and mechanic shop, guaranteeing all equipment and tools are properly maintained
• Serve as the main point of contact for any site visitors or inquiries, confirming all issues are addressed promptly and efficiently
• Manage and perform maintenance on yellow iron equipment, trucks, and trailers - ensuring all machinery is in optimal working condition
• Supervise a team of three mechanics
• Organize and prioritize work orders as they come in, making sure of the timely and efficient completion of tasks
• Collaborate effectively with mechanic staff, foremen, and field crews ensuring seamless operation and communication
