Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a mobility and advanced electronics organization, is seeking skilled Electronics Test Technicians for two distinct onsite roles. These positions are responsible for supporting hardware validation, lab testing, and electronic system troubleshooting, including test equipment operation, PCBA modifications, and reliability testing. Candidates will be considered for one of the two roles—meeting all requirements across both is not expected.
Job Duties
Role 1: Hardware / Reliability Test Technician
- Operate software interfaces to execute hardware bring-up and test sequences
- Configure and calibrate thermal and vibration test chambers
- Troubleshoot DUT, test equipment, and harness failures and document root cause findings
- Validate system functionality using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, power supplies, and multimeters
- Perform circuit board modifications including soldering and component rework
- Support commissioning and setup of new test systems and equipment
Role 2: Electronics Lab / PCBA Test Technician
- Perform PCBA modifications including soldering, de-soldering, and blue wire changes
- Build wire harnesses to IPC/WHMA standards
- Assemble and configure custom test equipment based on engineering specifications
- Execute functional and circuit-level testing of electronic assemblies and prototypes
- Record test data and update procedures to reflect process improvements
- Diagnose failures and perform root cause analysis
Skills & Experience
Required
Role 1:
- Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience in electronics testing
- 5+ years of experience with automated test equipment (ATE) or industrial automation systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical datasheets
- Experience using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies)
- Soldering and circuit board rework experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools
Role 2:
- 3+ years of experience in an electronics or engineering lab environment
- Experience performing PCBA rework and fine-pitch soldering (including small components)
- Familiarity with electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, e-loads)
- Ability to build wire harnesses to industry standards
- Experience documenting test procedures and results
Desired
Role 1:
- Experience with thermal and vibration testing environments
- Background in hardware validation or manufacturing test environments
- Experience supporting system commissioning and integration
- Familiarity with data collection or test automation tools
Role 2:
- IPC certifications (IPC-610, IPC-620, J-STD-001, etc.)
- Experience with scripting (Python or similar)
- Familiarity with issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
- Exposure to electric vehicle or advanced electronics systems
