We are currently seeking a Databricks Technical Architect and Evangelistto join our Data and AI team. This position will work remotely from your home office located within the United States. This role will require a minimum of 25% travel.

This role requires a unique blend of deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and the ability to communicate complex solutions effectively. You will serve as a trusted advisor to external clients, enabling them to modernize their data ecosystems using Databricks Data Cloud platform. Additionally, you will act as an evangelist to drive adoption and educate internal teams including client partners and sales executives, and customers about Databricks capabilities.

Job Responsibilities Include:

This is a leadership-level opportunity that requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and client engagement to deliver scalable, innovative data and AI solutions. The role demands collaboration, thought leadership, and hands-on technical skills to drive Databricks adoption and optimize end-to-end data architectures for clients.

Solution Design & Implementation:

• Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform.
• Lead discovery workshops to analyze business challenges, data requirements, and current technology landscapes.
• Design and develop end-to-end data pipelines, ensuring seamless integration with Databricks, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Optimize Databricks workloads for cost efficiency, performance, and reliability, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and MLflow best practices.
• Define data governance, security, and compliance strategies for regulated industries and large-scale enterprises.
• Support real-time streaming architectures, batch data processing, and advanced analytics use cases.

Technical Leadership:

• Lead and mentor data engineers, analysts, and developers in Databricks best practices.
• Define and enforce data engineering and AI/ML standards using Databricks Workflows, MLflow, and feature stores.
• Drive automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) best practices for Databricks deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cloud architects, AI specialists, and data scientists, to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Guide teams on orchestration tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory, and AWS Step Functions.

Evangelism & Enablement:

• Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert (SME) for Databricks within NTT DATA and client organizations.
• Develop and deliver hands-on workshops, webinars, and technical presentations on Databricks capabilities, AI integration, and industry use cases.
• Create white papers, reference architectures, best practice guides, and reusable assets to showcase Databricks value.
• Strengthen partnerships with Databricks account teams, product managers, and solution architects, contributing to co-marketing initiatives and joint go-to-market strategies.
• Represent NTT DATA and Databricks at industry conferences, meetups, and client briefings.

Business Development & Growth Support:

• Work closely with sales and presales teams to craft compelling technical proposals, demos, and proof-of-concepts (PoCs) for new and existing clients.
• Provide technical leadership during RFP responses, solution architecture design, and client workshops.
• Identify opportunities for expanding Databricks adoption, including AI/ML workloads, data lakehouse architectures, and advanced analytics solutions.
• Collaborate with alliance and cloud teams to drive joint cloud-native Databricks solutions on AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Databricks.
• Proven track record of designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale data solutions across multiple industries.
• Experience working in consulting, enterprise engagements, or client-facing roles, particularly with GSIs or Fortune 500 customers.
• Deep expertise in modern data architectures, lakehouse principles, and AI-driven analytics.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks core components, including Delta Lake, Apache Spark, MLflow, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Scala, with experience in ETL frameworks (e.g., DBT, Fivetran, Matillion, Talend).
• Experience with cloud-native data services on AWS (Glue, Redshift, S3), Azure (ADF, Synapse, ADLS), and GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, GCS).
• Strong understanding of BI/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and their integration with Databricks.
• Hands-on experience with real-time data streaming (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Event Hubs).
• Knowledge of MLOps frameworks, feature engineering, and AI model deployment is a plus.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to business executives.
• Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities, with a passion for coaching and developing high-performing teams.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation), and containerized deployments (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Ability to navigate complex enterprise environments, managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Self-motivated, strategic thinker with a growth mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
