Description :

The nursing unit has a total of 25 beds with a patient ratio of 5-6+ per nurse.

The staffing consists of 4-5 nurses and 1-3 Patient Care Technicians.

A department secretary is available from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 00 PM, currently three days a week.

Two positions are being hired to provide coverage for six days a week.

General nursing equipment is utilized for the care of medical-surgical patients.

This includes post-operative care related to hip, knee, spine, and other orthopedic procedures.

The documentation system used on the unit is Meditech.

Scheduling requires three shifts per week, including every other weekend.

There is no guarantee of block scheduling.

Floating to similar units may be required.

Patient experience requirements include bedside shift report and safety rounding.

Staff is expected to use AIDET for all interactions.

The focus is on treating all patients with courtesy and respect, keeping them informed of their care.

Personal connections with patients are encouraged.

No advanced skills are required for this role.

Unit-specific policies and guidelines will be reviewed at the time of employment.

The unit is purpose-built and just over one year old, with ample equipment to meet patient and staff needs.

Many nursing staff members have tenures of over 20 years.

This unit has received numerous nominations for awards recognizing outstanding care and patient experience.

Patients consistently speak highly of the care provided on this unit.
