Genesis Properties is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations of a large apartment complex featuring recently renovated, historic buildings in Richmond, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader with strong technical skills and a passion for preserving historic properties while ensuring modern living standards for our residents.

What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will :

  • Lead Your Team : Supervise a staff of 2 or more maintenance professionals.
  • Be a Property Pro : Perform efficient and high-quality apartment turns to get units ready for our next residents.
  • Fix it Right : Use your skills in electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, and HVAC to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Solve Resident Problems : Communicate effectively with residents and coworkers to ensure everyone is satisfied and informed.
  • Stay Organized : Manage inventory control, purchasing, budgets, and vendor relationships effectively.
  • Ensure Quality : Oversee multi-family inspections, quality assurance (QA), and reporting.
  • Stay Ready : Join our rotating on-call schedule to respond to urgent issues and keep our community running smoothly.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience : At least (2) two years experience as a Maintenance Supervisor overseeing staff of two or more, combined with at a minimum of (2) two years of experience as a Maintenance Technician.
  • Technical Proficiency : Must be proficient in plumbing, electrical systems, appliance installation and repair, and apartment turns.
  • Certifications : Must have a valid HVAC Universal - Section 608 Certification.
  • Software Skills : Experience with Excel and other relevant management software.
  • A Team Player : We work better together, and we want someone who feels the same.
  • A Clean Record : You'll need to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Availability : Must be able to be "On Call" on a rotating basis.
