This is a 10-month / renewable position that includes benefits of paid medical and leave.

TITLE : Nutrition Specialist II

SUPERVISOR : Food Service Manager

JOB TYPE : This is a Classified Position typically 6am - 2 : 30pm Monday 8 hours with a 30 minute unpaid lunch

SUMMARY : The Nutrition SpecialistII will serve students consistently attractive nutritionally balanced meals that comply with USDA mean requirements maintain all sanitation regulations and maintain efficiency in job and inventory productivity. This is the second level of a two-level series.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS :

• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• 18 years of age or older.
• Two years of experience as commercial cook OR an Associates Degree in Food Service Management Foods and Hospitality Service or a directly-related field.
• Ability to prepare food and work with portion control.
• Ability to operate industrial dishwashers mixers ovens and other related school kitchen equipment.
• Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards safety practices and precautions.
• Ability to supervise student helpers and staff who work in the kitchen / cafeteria.
• Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students parents and staff.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to use fractions decimals and commercial arithmetic.
• Basic computer skills as well as Microsoft Word Excel and email.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

CONDITIONS :

This is a classified 10-month position.

SALARY :

Will be determined by terms of the current negotiated agreement. The amount due under the contract will be pro-rated monthly in accordance with district policy.
