Talascend is currently seeking a Material Handler for a contract opportunity with our client in Cincinnati, Ohio .

Overview

Performs multifunctional duties in a warehouse environment related to picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and the put-away of parts.

Responsibilities

  • Work from an order picklist / RF scanner to fill customer part orders from warehouse bins.
  • Responsible for grouping parts together according to the order pick list and transporting the accurate parts to packing.
  • Proper and accurate count is required for each order before packing the order in a suitable manner.
  • Responsible for completeness or accuracy of orders.
  • Performs tasks necessary for shipping and / or receiving of parts.
  • Receiving functions include counting and examining to verify completeness against shipping documents, checking for damaged goods, and keeping records of shortages, exceptions, and damage.
  • Shipping function includes weighing and addressing, attaching postage or making up and attaching bills of lading, and keeping a record of goods shipped.
  • Has final responsibility to see that shipment is complete and correct prior to shipping.
  • Prepare and maintain records of receiving / shipping reports and other related documents.
  • Perform all necessary system transactions and make corrections when required.
  • Must have the ability to operate an electric-powered forklift truck to move, stack, and load or unload materials.
  • Work may include using banding machines, tape machines, FR scanners.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment

  • Proficient in PC-based software programs a plus but not required.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Accuracy and time elements are crucial.
  • Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs, reach, bend, squat, kneel and spend the majority of the workday walking and standing on a concrete surface.
  • Requires the ability to follow basic written and verbal instructions.
  • Mathematical ability to change and correct data to ensure accuracy.
  • Work well under pressure, be flexible and cooperative.

    2nd Shift 3 : 30 PM - 11 : 30 PM
