Summary

Reata Engineering & Machine Works Inc.(Reata) a state-of-the-art contract manufacturer specializing in comprehensive machining and assembly services is seeking a Quality Manager. Overview

As the Quality Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of all parts manufactured at Reata. You will develop implement and maintain quality assurance protocols and systems to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations. You will lead a team of quality inspectors and work closely with production supervisors engineers and clients to achieve and maintain the highest quality standards.

The ideal Quality Manager is analytical detail-oriented and excels at problem-solving with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential quality issues. They are adaptable able to adjust to changing conditions in a dynamic manufacturing environment and are effective communicators both verbally and in writing. Leadership and teamwork are crucial as the role requires inspiring and guiding the quality control team while working collaboratively with engineers production supervisors and clients. Additionally they should be technologically savvy comfortable using advanced technology and software for quality control processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance Leadership : Develop implement and maintain comprehensive quality control systems and protocols. Lead and mentor the quality control team to achieve operational excellence.
  • Compliance and Standards : Ensure all parts meet ISO 9001 : 2015 ISO 13485 and AS9100 : 2016 standards as well as other relevant industry regulations. Maintain compliance with ITAR registration.
  • Inspection and Testing : Oversee detailed inspections of machined parts using advanced precision measuring tools to ensure they meet stringent specifications and quality standards. Assist with inspections as needed to keep parts moving through the shop.
  • Continuous Improvement : Identify areas for quality improvement and implement effective corrective actions. Drive initiatives for process improvement and defect prevention.
  • Documentation and Reporting : Accurately document quality control processes inspection results RMAs and corrective actions. Prepare detailed reports for internal review and client assurance.
  • Customer Collaboration : Work closely with clients to understand their quality requirements and address any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Training and Development : Conduct training sessions for staff on quality assurance protocols inspection techniques and industry standards. Ensure department personnel are cross-trained on all equipment and processes.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Educational Background : Bachelors degree in Quality Management Engineering or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g. ASQ Certified Quality Manager) are a plus.
  • Experience : Minimum of 10 years of experience in a quality control role within a contract manufacturer environment with at least 5 years as a Quality Manager.
  • Technical Skills : Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and quality control software. Strong understanding of CNC machining processes CAD / CAM software and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Leadership Skills : Proven ability to lead mentor and develop a team of quality professionals. Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Detail-Oriented : High attention to detail with a keen eye for identifying defects and ensuring part consistency.
