Urdu Translation Volunteer Opportunity

Free Wheelchair Mission (FWM) is a humanitarian, faith-based, non-profit organization based in Irvine, California, USA. Our mission is to “Transform lives through the gift of mobility to people with disabilities living in developing nations as motivated by Jesus Christ.”

There are an estimated 80 million people around the world today in need of a wheelchair. We are focused and committed to being a leading provider of mobility in developing countries, but beyond placing a recipient in a wheelchair, we are bringing transformation that opens doors to education, employment opportunities, and community that these individuals only dreamed of before receiving the gift of mobility.

Free Wheelchair Mission is seeking a dedicated volunteer who is fluent in Urdu to assist in translating a wheelchair assembly instruction manual

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

The volunteer will follow the training, and written process and procedures to carry out tasks. Tasks will include :

• Translating, writing, and proofreading in Urdu
• Basic knowledge of wheelchairs is a plus
• Background knowledge in engineering and medical device assembly is a plus

Requirements :

Volunteers are welcome to complete tasks remotely or in person at the Free Wheelchair Mission offices in Irvine, CA. Individuals should be proficient in basic computer programs such as Google Doc and PDF.

Time Commitment :

We encourage volunteers to commit up to 3-5
