Job Title : Field Installation Manager
Reports to : Director of Project Management
Position Status : Full-time, Exempt Salaried
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB :
The Field Installation Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating the on-site installation of retail store fixtures, displays, and custom millwork across the U.S. The Field Installation Supervisor ensures installations are completed on time, within budget, and to Morgan Morgan Li’s standards of excellence and craftsmanship.
This role requires a high level of leadership, strong attention to detail, customer service orientation, and hands-on involvement at the job site. The position involves up to 75% travel to project locations nationwide, including overnight stays and weekend work depending on project timelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Supervise all on-site installation activities and subcontractor crews during fixture and display installations at retail locations
- Act as the primary on-site liaison between the client, general contractor, subcontractors, and the Morgan Li Project Management team
- Ensure all installations meet company quality standards, safety regulations, and customer expectations
- Manage project timelines, adjust schedules based on site conditions, and escalate issues as needed
- Maintain daily logs of site progress, punch lists, and incident reports when applicable
- Travel to project locations across the U.S., representing Morgan Li in a professional and positive manner
- Review site drawings and installation plans before and during installation to ensure accuracy and alignment with project scope
- Ensure appropriate tools, equipment, and materials are available at each site before installation begins
- Communicate clearly and regularly with internal teams on project status, risks, and site conditions
- Conduct site walkthroughs with clients or general contractors at completion, ensuring all work is completed to spec
- Train and mentor junior installers and subcontractors on Morgan Li installation expectations and safety protocols
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with Project Management and Engineering teams to implement best practices
- Resolve on-site conflicts efficiently while maintaining professionalism and keeping the project on track
- Assist with warehouse or shop prep of jobs as needed when not in the field
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred5+ years of experience in fixture installation, carpentry, construction management, or a related field3+ years of experience supervising field crews or subcontractorsExperience working in retail, hospitality, or commercial environments preferredStrong understanding of millwork, metal, and fixture fabrication and installation methodsExperience reading blueprints, shop drawings, and installation plansOSHA 10 or 30 certification preferredREQUIRED SKILLS
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, mobile environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile apps (for reports, photos, documentation)Ability to travel frequently, including overnight and weekend workStrong understanding of construction site safety and proceduresAbility to manage multiple installations simultaneouslyProfessional demeanor and appearance; able to interface with clients and general contractors confidentlyAbility to motivate and lead field crews, holding them accountable for performance and behaviorCapable of troubleshooting technical or logistical challenges independentlyComfortable working at heights, using ladders and lifts as requiredAbility to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing site conditionsNOTE : This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
