Educational Leadership & Technology, AI Workshop Student Assistant

Job Summary :

The Student Assistant will help coordinate and facilitate four Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration workshops at CSUSB. Funded by Instructionally Related Activities (IRA) these workshops build students AI literacy and ethical use in academic and professional contexts. The student assistant will collaborate with Dr. Viktor Wang to assist with logistics prepare instructional materials support participants during sessions and compile post-event outcomes. There are five (5) positions available. Each student will work up to 30 hours total for this project.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Under direct supervision duties include but not limited to :

• Assist with planning and coordination of four AI workshops at CSUSB.
• Prepare slides handouts and digital resources; support room / tech setup or virtual platform logistics.
• Provide in-session tech support and demonstrations (e.g. prompt design evaluation of AI outputs).
• Track attendance manage participant communications and collect feedback.
• Summarize evaluations and prepare brief post-event reports.
• Model and reinforce ethical and responsible AI use (academic integrity data privacy bias awareness).
• Perform other related duties as assigned as appropriate for classification.

Compensation and Benefits :

Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range : $16.50 per hour.

The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.

Position Information :

Work status : Part-Time Temporary Seasonal

Academic year available hours : Monday through Friday (8 : 00 am 5 : 00 pm).

Summer available hours : Monday through Thursday (7 : 00 am - 5 : 30 pm).

This is an On-Campus Only position. Student Employees are not eligible to telecommute at any time.

Conditions of Employment

Background Check

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required for student employment purposes. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and / or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check when required may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Drivers License Check

Possession of a valid Drivers License may be required. Employees in this position will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice Program which confirms possession of a valid drivers license and reflects driving record.
