Job Description :
Under the supervision of the Education Coordinator, the Lead Teacher is responsible for creating an environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of children in their assigned classroom. The Lead Teacher will collaborate with team members to develop and implement creative lesson plans.
Key Responsibilities :
- Arrive at work, meetings, and training on time
- Develop, present, and evaluate appropriate lesson plans
- Supervise all classroom and daily routine activities
- Direct Teacher and Teaching Assistant in all daily preparation work and clean-up
- Submit supply requests as needed

CDA (Child Development Associate), Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Early Childhood or a related field.Minimum of 3 months paid or volunteer experience in a childcare setting.Knowledge of children’s developmental stages.CPR and First Aid Certification (must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged standing and walking throughout the day.Ability to walk to and lead children on field trips and other outings.Potential to push / pull strollers and cribs.Must be able to lift 35–40 lbs.Frequent sitting, bending, kneeling, and squatting to engage at child level.Ability to read written materials for both administrative and classroom use.Must communicate clearly with children, parents, and staff, both verbally and in writing.Must be able to reach for and carry classroom materials, equipment, and supplies for activities and meals.Capable of supervising children in various indoor and outdoor environments, including different weather conditions.Programming Requirements :
Knowledgeable about NYS Licensing Regulations and NAEYC accreditation standardsSet up classroom spaces, settings, and materials according to ITERS and ECERS rating scale standards.Promote tolerance and social responsibility through multicultural and anti-bias programming and environments.Plan and organize on-site and community field trips and collaborations, ensuring the highest safety standards.Maintain all required classroom documentation, including blue cards, Individual Health Care Plans, physical forms, medication administration forms, and any other licensing-required paperwork.Other Facts :
Open Monday–Friday, 7 : 00 AM–6 : 00 PM (closed on designated holidays).Reports to
