Job Description\n

American Traveler seeks an experienced Physical Therapist for an outpatient setting specializing in orthopedic and neuro cases, requiring active state licensure and BLS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Outpatient physical therapy clinic focused on post-acute care
  • Average of 10 patients treated per day, with caseloads ranging from 9-11
  • Typical diagnoses include orthopedic, total joint, vestibular, neurological, and balance difficulties
  • Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm shifts with a required 30-minute lunch
  • No weekends or on-call required
  • Professional attire is required; no specific color for uniforms
  • EMR system used is Cerner
  • Support staff includes two PTAs in the clinic
  • Includes 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation
  • Responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of orthopedic, neuro, vestibular, and balance disorders
  • Clinic is closed on major holidays and operates on reduced hours on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve
  • Returning candidates may not have worked in a direct employment role with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in the past year; prior PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
  • Unit structure includes collaboration with two PTAs and no rehab aides
  • First-time travelers are considered for this position

  • Minimum 2 years of recent outpatient physical therapy experience
  • Active state or Compact (NLC) PT license required; pending licenses not accepted (license required if applicable)
  • Current BLS certification is required; pending certifications not accepted
  • Experience with Cerner charting system is preferred
  • Must provide two professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
  • Copy of valid driver’s license required for consideration
