JOB SUMMARY :
The Patient Care Tech performs patient care and unit functions under the direction of a registered nurse as a part of the health care team. Responsible for communicating completed assigned tasks to the registered nurse. Responsible for following established organization and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines of the hospital. Supports the philosophy and goals of OSS Orthopaedic Hospital.

LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Must be proficient in the English language, both verbally and written, in order to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, vendors, and the general public.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Moderate physical effort when working in patient care environment consisting of standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and stooping. Moderate sitting and keyboarding when performing administrative responsibilities. Fine and gross motor skills and manual dexterity to operate keyboard and other equipment. Occasionally lift and / or move 25 to 50 pounds. Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to an emergency.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Climate controlled environment with occasional periods of being outside. Subject to stressful situations, long or irregular hours.
