Join J.P. Morgan, a global leader in banking and financial services, renowned for innovation, excellence and service. Our Global Banking business provides comprehensive financial solutions to corporations, governments, and institutions worldwide, helping clients navigate complex markets and achieve their strategic objectives. The Security & Resiliency Initiative (SRI) is a firmwide priority focused on strengthening operational resilience and advancing critical sectors that underpin economic and national security, including advanced manufacturing and supply chains, defense and aerospace technologies, energy independence and grid resilience, pharma and health technology, and frontier technologies such as AI, cybersecurity and quantum computing.

As a Communications Vice President within Commercial & Investment Bank supporting Security & Resiliency Initiative communications, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic communications plans that articulate the firm’s resiliency vision and leadership in these critical domains. You will partner closely with senior leaders, cross-functional teams and corporate communications to lead consistent, impactful storytelling across internal and external channels.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies for SRI, aligned with firmwide priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing counsel on messaging, positioning and engagement opportunities.
  • Draft, edit and oversee high-quality content including, but not limited to, press releases, thought leadership pieces, executive speeches and internal messages.
  • Manage media relations and proactively identify opportunities to showcase the firm’s resiliency efforts externally.
  • Collaborate with internal partners across business management, operations, government relations and regulatory teams to ensure accurate and timely communications.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory developments to inform messaging and identify strategic opportunities.
  • Track and measure intended behavioral outcomes and the communications tactics to support them. Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support spokesperson preparation for media interviews, conferences and speaking engagements.
  • Develop strong relationships with communicators across the firm and among our broader communications team.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience in communications or a related field within financial services or one of the SRI focus areas (advanced manufacturing and supply chains, defense and aerospace technologies, energy independence and grid resilience, pharma and health technology, frontier technologies such as AI, cybersecurity and quantum computing).
  • Experience managing media relationships and navigating sensitive topics at an agency or in-house in finance, banking or a field related to SRI’s focus areas.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communications plans for complex, high-profile initiatives.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to distill complex topics into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Analytical and strategic approach to problem solving.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Deep understanding of one or more SRI focus areas.
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed organization and influencing across multiple verticals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strategic use of large language models.
  • Internally motivated, collaborative, proactive and adaptable communicator with a passion for storytelling and innovation; confident in strategy development and end-to-end execution.

Please also note work and deadlines associated with this position at times may happen outside regular business hours and you will need to be able to respond, within reason, when these situations arise.
