This is an exciting opportunity to join an emerging commercial real estate operating platform focused on acquiring and managing multi-tenant light industrial shallow bay properties in key metropolitan areas across the US.

About the Role

The Corporate Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial records and reporting for the company's corporate entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all corporate-level accounting activities. This role requires advanced proficiency in Yardi and Excel, with a strong ability to collaborate across teams to streamline corporate accounting processes, support consolidated reporting, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger and sub-ledger accounts for assigned entities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring proper coding and approval workflows.
• Track and manage budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for each entity.
• Use Yardi to bill and collect intercompany amounts.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure expense reports and corporate card activity are properly classified and recorded.
• Use Excel to create detailed financial models, reports, and pivot tables for management review.
• Support annual audit and tax filings by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses to inquiries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, ideally within the real estate industry.
• Proficiency in Yardi Voyager Software is preferred.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and accounting best practices.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective communicator with strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coordinating workflow and task tracking through Asana to maintain project timelines.

The annual full-time base salary range for this role is: $65,000-85,000

Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and Speed Bay Senior Management approval. Speed Bay offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies. All full-time employees also are eligible to participate in various benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401K, in each case in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
