Fire Suppression Design Engineer

Seeking candidates for a Fire Protection Design Engineer on behalf of our client in Harrison, OH. We are open to considering either a Junior or Senior-level candidate , depending on experience. This role is responsible for designing special hazard fire suppression and fire alarm systems that meet safety, compliance, and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design life safety and asset protection systems using AutoCAD and proprietary software.

Ensure designs meet local, national, and manufacturer requirements.

Direct contractors on proper installation and system operation.

Conduct job site surveys to validate system design and installation.

Review, interpret, and implement customer project specifications.

Participate in manufacturer training and ongoing professional development.

Create project-specific operation and maintenance manuals.

Update and maintain existing drawings.

Support office staff with engineering-related process improvements.

Assist with system inspection, maintenance, startups, and commissioning as needed.

Qualifications

Previous experience in the fire protection industry is required .

Prior experience as a Design Engineer.

Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting.

Experience with 3D design software.

Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate technical information.

Desire to learn industry standards.

Willingness to pursue NICET certification.
