Job Description
Responsible to Telecommunication Comm Center Foreman for the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance, servicing of network systems, database administration, and coordination with field and engineering teams.
Base Location
: Any of the following facilities – Headquarters, Westminster, CO; Northern Colorado Maintenance Center, Frederick, CO; Brush Field Facility, Brush, CO; or Colorado Springs Field Facility, Colorado Springs, CO.
Note :
There is one position available, and the position will be filled at one of four job grade levels : Telecommunications Network System Administrator I (T3); II (T4); III (T5); or Senior (T6). This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected and Tri‑State business needs at the time of hire.

III : $61.68

Responsibilities
Monitor the Telecom Network Management System for alarms and report to appropriate parties.
Perform NMS database updates for network elements.
Administer Nokia MPLS client systems and configurations.
Work with Comm Center and field technologists to troubleshoot network communications.
Assist Telecom Engineering with design and documentation.
Perform software upgrades on network elements.
Maintain and administer Infoblox IPAM database, subnetting, and IP assignments.
Maintain RADIUS (Microsoft Server OS) database.
Document network topology.
Use CLI for configuration and diagnostics.
Coordinate with field technicians for installation and maintenance.
Collaborate on relay protection circuit support and ensure compliance with NERC / FERC regulations.
Work overtime as required by continuous service obligations.

Qualifications
Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology with advanced studies in telecommunications, LAN / WAN theory, fiber optics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
Interpreting electrical schematic diagrams and control logic.
Knowledge of first aid and safety for utilities.
IP routing and switching proficiency.
Experience with RHEL, Perl, SQL / MySQL.
Familiarity with SNMP, TL1, SMTP.
Experience with Nokia Routers (SR / SAR) and packet‑switched timing.
Understanding of SONET and TDM, label distribution protocols, Layer 2 VPNs, and link state routing.
Experience
Eight (8) or more years of practical experience in maintenance of telecommunication systems, including fiber optics, microwave radio, multiplexers, channel banks.
Three (3) years of fiber optic systems and microwave radio.
Two (2) years of data networks (TCP / IP).
One (1) year of network control center operation.
Other
Willingness to work around high voltage.
Will willingness to travel up to 25% of time.
Valid driver’s license.
Residence within 60‑minute response time of base location.
Satisfactory work record.
On‑call 24‑hour basis.
Desired Job Qualifications
Electrical utility experience desirable.
Experience with Nokia NRS 1 / 2 certifications.
Familiarity with relay protection circuits.
Advanced studies in IP networking, Linux, database management.
Suggested Certifications
Cisco CCNA or CCNP.
CompTIA Network+.
Nokia NRS I / II.
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC‑1 or LPIC‑2).

The above requirements describe the experience and education qualifications for the Senior role; those with less experience will be hired at the I, II, or III levels.
