American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a CA license and critical care certifications for a night shift contract.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the ICU / CCU department of a hospital settingNight shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19 : 00 - 07 : 30)Patient population includes critical and multi-system organ failure casesPotential to float to DOU, Tele, or Med Tele units as neededEvery other weekend coverage is required8-week contract with option to extendResponsibilities include management of critically ill patients, including those with CVA / acute stroke, renal failure, and requiring advanced monitoring and supportMust be able to assist with chest tube insertion / removal, procedural sedation administration, and emergency medicationsCare for ventilated and post-surgical patients is requiredPre-assignment completion of required specialty modules is mandatoryRTO cannot be taken within the first two weeks and is capped at three days during the contractHoliday coverage is requiredDress code and further orientation details to be provided prior to startLocal candidates are accepted at the same rate\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 3 years of ICU experience requiredCurrent certifications : ACLS, BLS, CPI, MAB or VIP, and NIHSSProficiency with FloTrac / Vigileo, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and advanced cardiac monitoringExperience with ventilator management, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP / CPAP, and hypothermia protocolsAbility to manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, start IVs, and administer cardiac / vasoactive dripsSkill in phlebotomy and wound care including wound vacs and surgical woundsCompetency in infection prevention and isolation precautionsReferences from professional supervisors within the past 2 years are required\n Benefits\n
