Job Summary

The Work-Study Student/Technology Assistant will work within the CTLED assisting with the integration of new technologies into the organization's operations. The position will require the individual to possess excellent technical knowledge and an eagerness to learn new technologies as they are introduced. The work-study student will work with the team to implement new technology projects and provide the student perspective.

• Assist with the development of materials and documentation for student resources from a students’ perspective
• Work with the technology team to identify and evaluate new technologies and applications for use within the organization
• Shoot and edit video and photos for the organization's media platforms
• Attend brainstorming sessions and provide student feedback

Overall, the candidate should have a passion for technology and an eagerness to learn and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field. The ability to work collaboratively with others, communicate effectively, and demonstrate attention to detail are also essential for success in this role.

In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements. Please for more information prior to applying to a Federal Work-Study job.

• FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
• FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office.
• FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
• The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a GateWay Community College student registered for 6 or more credit hours and received financial aid eligibility.

Desired Qualifications

• Interest in learning new technologies
• Knowledge of augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR)
• Overall knowledge of computer systems and common software (Google Suite, Google Chrome, Canvas, etc.)

Special Working Conditions

• May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen.
• May require lifting up to 20 lbs.
