Hiring Now : PAYROLL MANAGER
Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of our multi-state, bi-weekly payroll operations for approximately 7,500 employees. This critical role requires a deep understanding of multi-state payroll taxation, compliance, and UKG systems management, as this person will ensure timely and accurate payroll disbursement; lead continuous process improvement; manage a team; and serve as the primary subject matter expert for all payroll and timekeeping matters.
The ideal candidate will possess :
- 6+ years of progressive, hands-on experience managing a high-volume, multi-state payroll
- Expert-level knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and compliance, including garnishment processing
- Proven ability to manage quarter-end and year-end processing (W-2s, tax filings, etc.)
- Experience in managing and developing a payroll team
- Advanced proficiency with major payroll and timekeeping systems (UKG Pro & WFM experience preferred)
- Possess certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Skilled in driving process automation and improvements

Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Payroll team to ensure all day-to-day and payroll cycle processes related to Lettuce and its affiliated companies' complex, multi-state payroll for 7,500+ employees of all types, ensuring compliance with all internal policies and federal, state and local laws and regulations, including oversight of those individuals', providers' and teams' responsibilities to :Execute comprehensive processes and procedures to account for changes in employee status, terminations, tax jurisdictions, and statutory deductions
Manage the full payroll lifecycle, including processing manual checks, stop payments, voids, and reversalsRun and analyze pre-check and routine pre-payroll reports, proactively identifying and correcting discrepancies, errors, and exceptionsPerform payroll balancing by running reports, investigating variances, and determining and executing corrective actionsSet up new earnings and deductions codes ensuring proper taxation configurationResearch and resolve payroll discrepancies, errors and exceptions expeditiously and accurately through direct and frequent interaction with service providers and leaders and employees at all levelsMaintain proficiency in job functions of all direct reports' positions and provide active back-up support when business needs requireMonitor, address and document individual Payroll and related team members' individual employee performanceCommunicate effectively with third-party service providers, executive leadership, partners, restaurant management, office teams, corporate teams and all employees to thoroughly communicate payroll and payroll-related policies and procedures and to investigate and resolve payroll and payroll-related questions, issues and concernsContinuously drive improvements, automation, communication, and education to enhance the payroll process and administrator experienceQualifications
