Senior Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer

Position Overview

This role is responsible for architecting, developing, testing, and maintaining infrastructure-as-code, CI / CD pipelines, configuration management frameworks, and containerized applications. The position provides both strategic technical leadership and hands-on engineering support for internal systems and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Core Engineering & Architecture

Design, build, document, test, and optimize infrastructure-as-code and configuration-management solutions.

Develop and maintain policies, standards, and best-practice documentation for system configurations and deployments.

Conduct requirements analysis and design models for infrastructure components, application flows, and automation frameworks.

Lead and participate in technical design sessions; translate business needs into technical specifications.

Identify, evaluate, and integrate new technologies to enhance performance, security, reliability, and scalability.

Implement updates to operating systems, hardware, and platform services, including patches, kernel parameters, user management, and file systems.

Operations & Troubleshooting

Analyze issues across automation, infrastructure, and application layers; tune pipelines for reliability and efficiency.

Diagnose and resolve hardware and system-level problems, serving as an escalation point for complex issues.

Monitor the health and performance of production and development environments; proactively address and remediate issues.

Support production systems, troubleshoot incidents, and implement improvements based on root-cause analysis.

Participate in change-management processes to ensure safe deployment and operational stability.

Collaboration & Leadership

Partner with engineering teams to prototype, refine, test, and deliver solutions aligned with user needs.

Coach and mentor team members on technical patterns, policies, and emerging best practices.

Provide ongoing support for existing products while contributing enhancements and new features.

Help maintain strong operational and cybersecurity standards to protect the confidentiality and integrity of systems and data.

Specializations

Kubernetes Focus

Architect and deploy container orchestration solutions in hybrid cloud environments.

Ensure high-availability releases and ongoing maintenance with zero or minimal downtime.

Cloud Engineering Focus

Lead large-scale infrastructure-as-code projects and develop APIs and tools enabling repeatable cloud deployments.

Create abstractions to simplify cloud-provider complexity (AWS) and internal platform services.

Troubleshoot cross-stack infrastructure issues involving networking, compute, storage, and application pipelines.

Design cloud architectures emphasizing security, observability, fault tolerance, and scalability.

Demonstrate expertise with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and modern CI / CD systems.

Utilize deep knowledge of AWS services (, EC2, IAM, ELB, Route53, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudFormation).

Architect Kubernetes environments using platforms such as EKS, ECS, and enterprise container orchestration tools.

Work with Linux, Docker, networking protocols, TLS, DNS, load balancing, build systems, and workflow orchestration.

Support data-center operations, monitoring, alerting, and automation at scale.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional certifications.

7+ years of DevOps, software engineering, or related experience.

Ability to manage multiple projects with a solid understanding of modern software environments and network topologies.

At least 3 years of experience with modern application design patterns.

Strong command-line Linux skills and experience creating / editing shell scripts.

Experience with configuration or automation tools such as Chef, Ansible, or Puppet.

Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and orchestration platforms such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Familiarity with encryption, security protocols, and secure infrastructure design.

Experience with one or more cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Successful completion of background and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications in Terraform, AWS, or Kubernetes.

Cloud-provider certifications (AWS, Azure, etc.) strongly preferred.
