About Pointer
At Pointer, we're building AI-native process automation to replace tedious human labor. We help companies map their processes, identify what's worth automating, and deploy AI agents that actually execute the work – across documents, browsers, and legacy systems.
We recently raised our seed round from incredible investors (to be announced) and are looking for gritty, fast-learning engineers to join us.
About the role
You’ll own how Pointer feels – to our customers and to the teams they serve. You'll build the surfaces people touch every day : the interfaces where customers create, orchestrate, and monitor the work Pointer does for them. Your job is to make Pointer feel intuitive, polished, and magical.
This is a role for an engineer with taste. Someone who cares about UI polish, micro-interactions, and the performance of every click. You’ll be sitting at the intersection of design and engineering, constantly asking : how do we make this so good that no one ever thinks about it?
What you’ll work on
Building interfaces that let non-technical ops teams design and edit complex automations
Performance optimization at every layer : the product needs to feel instant even when orchestrating processes across external systems
State management across long-running, multi-step workflows that span external systems, APIs, and human escalation points
Designing abstractions that let customers configure deeply when they want to, but stay out of the way when they don't
Shipping end-to-end experiences, from spec to production to polish
You’ll be a good fit if
You’re full-stack and fast : React, TypeScript, Node / Express, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ
You have strong design taste (experience with Figma, design systems, UX principles)
You thrive on ownership : you want to spec, build, ship, and demo what you create
You’re excited to work in-person in SF with a tight, ambitious team
You've built systems that need to be fast and reliable under real-world messiness
