CNC Programmer

Position : CNC Programmer (MazaCAM Experience Required) Temporary Contract (6-12 Months)

Compensation :  up to $50 / hour

Location : New Haven, CT (with occasional travel to Padua, Italy)

About the Opportunity :

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer for a 612 month contract assignment to support programming and process optimization on Mazak machinery. This role will primarily be based in New Haven, CT, with potential travel to Italy (near Venice).

This is an exciting opportunity to work on new machine installations and optimize manufacturing processes in a dynamic, international environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Program, edit, and optimize MazaCAM programs for Mazak QTE-300M SG (Italy) and Mazak QT-450M (New Haven) machines.

Develop and refine manufacturing and inspection processes from blueprint to assembly.

Set up, test, and troubleshoot CNC lathe operations to ensure production quality and efficiency.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams in both New Haven and Italy to streamline processes and improve cycle times.

Conduct test runs and adjust programs for enhanced precision and efficiency.

Provide technical support and training to machinists as needed.

Travel to Italy as necessary (ideally one week per month) to assist with programming and production support.

Qualifications :

• Strong CNC programming experience using MazaCAM for Mazak QTE-300M SG and Mazak QT-450M.
• Expertise in Mazak lathe setup, troubleshooting, and machining best practices.
• Solid understanding of GD&T , blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel to Italy (preferred but not mandatory).

Preferred :

SolidWorks experience.

Background in a manufacturing / production environment.

Basic experience with CAD / CAM software for offline programming.

Additional Details :

Assignment Length : 6-12 months (hours may fluctuate depending on project phase).

Travel : Ideally available to travel to Italy one week per month (not a strict requirement).

Location Preference : On-site in New Haven, CT. Non-local candidates must be able to travel to New Haven frequently.

Compensation : $50 / hour.
