Overview
Goldberg Segalla, a dynamic and collaborative law firm with a national presence, seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join its team as a Process Improvement Analyst in its Buffalo office. The Process Improvement Analyst plays a critical role in bridging business needs with technology solutions by gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position also supports process improvement initiatives by mapping workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending enhancements to optimize operations. The Business Analyst ensures that business requirements are clearly defined and aligned with strategic objectives, enabling successful implementation of solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance client satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Support firmwide strategy deployment efforts by translating highlevel objectives into measurable initiatives, departmental priorities, and actionable improvement projects.
- Monitor progress toward strategic targets and provide datadriven insights to guide decisionmaking.
- Map and analyze current workflows across departments using process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, BPM software).
- Lead crossfunctional teams through structured problemsolving methodologies (e.g., A3, 5 Whys, Fishbone, DMAIC) to identify root causes and develop effective countermeasures.
- Identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement in existing processes.
- Develop and document future-state processes to standardize operations and support scalability.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements, validate processes, and engage stakeholders in improvement initiatives.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs) and Kaizen workshops to drive focused operational improvements.
- Document event outcomes, track action items, and monitor post implementation performance.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for efficiency, cost savings, and client satisfaction; assist in building dashboards in Power BI to monitor progress.
- Support change management efforts, including communication plans, training, and adoption strategies for new workflows and systems.
- Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for new systems, enhancements, and process changes.
- Create detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and user stories to guide development and implementation.
- Build capability across the firm by coaching SMEs and team members in problem solving tools and techniques.
- Support the development and management of the firms continuous improvement portfolio, including project intake, prioritization, benefit tracking, and status reporting.
- Maintain a repository of best practices, templates, and process documentation.
- Assist with special projects and assignments as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.5+ years of demonstrated experience leading business process improvement and strategy deployment initiatives in a similar role, with extensive work in requirements discovery, workflow analysis, and cross functional collaboration.Proficiency in process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, etc) and documentation techniques.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.Excellent communication and facilitation skills for cross-functional collaboration.Experience writing clear and comprehensive business requirements and functional specifications.Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) preferred.Familiarity with process automation tools and Power BI reporting preferred.Knowledge of legal operations or professional services workflows is a plus.Ability to work independently within general guidelines and minimal supervision.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also offers bonuses, and a full benefits package.
