Responsibilities vary by practice but may include :

  • Perform routine dental cleanings on patients, including scaling, polishing, and root planing
  • Take and develop X-rays to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Evaluate patients' oral health and communicate findings to the dentist
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide recommendations for oral health products
  • Administer local anesthetics and nitrous oxide as directed by the dentist
  • Assist the dentist with various dental procedures as needed
  • Maintain patient records and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
  • Follow infection control procedures and maintain a clean and sterile work environment
  • Attend continuing education courses to stay current with dental hygiene practices and advancements

    • Ideal Qualifications :

  • Current dental hygienist license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and practices
  • Experience with dental software and digital radiography systems preferred
