Histotechnologist / Histotechnician Knoxville, TN 2 (F / T) – 1 day shift 9am-5 : 30pm and 1 night shift 10pm-6 : 30am 2(P / T) – 1 (16hrper week) – Thu and Fri 3 : 30a-12p and 1 (25hr / week) – M-F 10p-3a 1 (On call) – Evening shift $5k Bonus offered (Sign-On or Relocation Assistance) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Under general supervision and according to policies and procedures, performs routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides, for microscopic evaluation by pathologist(s) Process paperwork associated with accessioning and reporting. Ensure proper tissue processing. May perform limited embedding and microtomy under general supervision, as needed. Prepare slides for routine Hematoxylin and Eosin staining. Perform cover slipping of stained slides either manually or automated. Prepare solutions and reagents for special stains under general supervision, as needed. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of non-complex equipment. Perform filing of finished blocks and slides. Adhere to laboratory's quality control policies, and document all quality control activities. Ensure all corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met. Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations. Maintain a clean and well-organized work area. Other duties, as assigned by supervisor. Required Work Experience : AS degree or equivalent training and experience HT (ASCP) 3 years Histology experience Current state licensure, if applicable Meets all requirements as outlined in corporate Policy for Minimum Qualifications for Histotechnician and Histology Supervisor. If performing Immunohistochemistry testing, meet all requirements as outlined in corporate Minimum Qualifications for Personnel Performing Immunohistochemistry Testing SOP. Preferred Work Experience : BS degree HTL (ASCP) Graduate of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnology program 6 years of histopathology experience Immunohistochemistry experience
