Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and effective operation of computerized mobile cranes.
Principal Accountabilities
Operate mobile crane and move materials to various locations in a safe and effective mannerInspect, rig, and ensure that rigging applications are configured in accordance with the load chart and manufacturer guidelinesInspect, clean, and perform operator level maintenance on equipment in accordance with standardsClosely interact with the customer for movement of materials and equipmentPerform daily safety checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating conditionFollow related safety regulations, contract requirements, company policies, and operating proceduresComplete necessary documentation, reporting, and limited office dutiesPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge & Skills
Knowledge of equipment safety, maintenance, and storageAnalytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work with limited supervisionAbility to read, write, and speak English fluently in order to understand equipment load charts, prepare written orders, read safety topics, etc.Additional knowledge and skill requirements may vary by assignmentExperience & Education
Minimum five (2) years of verifiable experience operating cranesHigh School Diploma or equivalentValid commercial drivers licenseEquipment Operator training and certificate from National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) :Telescopic Boom Swing Cab (TLL), Telescopic Boom CranesFixed Cab (TSS)
Ability to obtain, through evaluation, the certification to operate computerized mobile cranes up to eighty (100) tonsAdditional experience and education requirements may vary by assignmentPhysical Requirements / Working Environment
Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds, bend, stoop, and work safely around equipment, materials, supplies, and other items to be handledLiving and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortableLong hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditionsPersonnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
