Work Location is Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama
Ensure work performed meets the requirements of all contract plans and specifications through the effective review of construction documents and project monitoring and inspection.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Perform on-site surveillance and inspect contractor's quality control activities.
- Participate in 3-phase inspection process.
- Monitor adherence to approved design standards, codes, and regulations.
- Monitor and record testing required by contract documents.
- Maintain progress photos.
- Communicate with the government point of contact any quality-related concerns
- Review and recommend approve / disapproval of AHAs, submittals, shop drawings, and samples.
- Review and evaluate all RFIs, change orders and change order requests and recommend actions.
- Aid in preparing punch lists.
- Review final 'as built' drawings.
- Collaborate with project team to address interdisciplinary challenges.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the project team and broader organization.
- Attend weekly progress meetings with architects, engineers, and prime contractors.
- Produce detailed report of daily construction activities, project status, meetings, personnel assignments, site visitors. Report will be submitted in RMS and will detail descriptions of the work inspected, descriptions of the problems or delays and resolution, construction activities completed and / or in progress.
- Participate in commissioning activities.
- Monitor job safety.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field a plus.10+ years' experience on large scale construction projects. Federal experience a plus. 5+ years' QA experience.OSHA 30 certificationESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES :
Knowledge of general principles of architecture, engineering, design, and construction of building system components and their inter-relationships. Broad general knowledge of all construction trades.Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and techniques of the construction quality assurance / inspection process; knowledge of the USACE QA process a plus.Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations including DOD construction criteria, total building commissioning, TJC, NFPA, ASHRAE, OSHA, ADA, Life Safety and all building standards and medical facility codes.EOE, including disability / vets.
