Role :
The Warehouse Generalist supports day-to-day warehouse and production operations in a high-volume aluminum can manufacturing plant. This is a hands-on role responsible for shipping and receiving, moving, staging, organizing finished cans, raw materials, and packaging to keep production and outbound loads moving.
As production ramps up, this position helps prevent bottlenecks, keeps the floor organized, and ensures shipments are loaded, unloaded, and shipped safely and on time. The Warehouse Generalist must be flexible and ready to assist where needed, including line support, housekeeping, and other general labor tasks to support overall plant operations.
Responsibilities :
Warehouse & Material Handling
- Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment to move finished goods, raw materials, and packaging components
- Stage finished pallets for outbound shipment based on daily priorities
- Maintain organized warehouse layout, aisles, lanes, and storage areas
- Assist with handling large or heavy payloads using appropriate equipment and procedures
- Perform pre-shift forklift inspections and report mechanical or safety concerns immediately
Shipping & Receiving Support
Assist with loading and unloading inbound and outbound trucksSupport receipt of raw materials and packaging suppliesVerify quantities, identify discrepancies, and report issues as neededEnsure shipments are staged accurately and prepared on scheduleProduction Support
Remove finished goods from production equipment and place them in designated locationsSupport material flow to prevent production interruptionsAssist with management of pallets, tier sheets, top frames, and other dunnageOther duties as assignedInventory & Organization
Support cycle counts and basic inventory checksEnsure materials remain identifiable, accessible, and properly storedFlag shortages, overages, space constraints, or workflow issues to leadershipQuality & Safety
Perform basic visual inspections of pallets prior to staging or shipmentQuarantine damaged or suspect materials per directionFollow all safety policies related to forklift operation and warehouse activityContribute to a safety-first, team-oriented manufacturing environmentFollow FDA and environmental regulations related to production and material handlingRequirements :
Forklift experience or willingness to become forklift certifiedAbility to work in a fast-paced, physical manufacturing environmentBasic math, counting, and record-keeping skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to follow instructionsAbility to work in a manufacturing and warehouse floor environmentMust be able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, move throughout the shift, and operate warehouse equipmentComfortable working around industrial equipment, noise, and moving machineryAbility to work in hot and cold conditionsFlexible schedule as needed to support production schedules and shipping demandsPreferred :
