Description

• Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, utilizing both standardized and observational methods.
• Create tailored treatment strategies designed to facilitate short-term objectives as well as long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
• Implement effective speech therapy interventions that focus on communication, language refinement, fluency enhancement, voice development, and swallowing function.
• Engage in collaboration with other healthcare professionals including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish unified care plans.
• Provide educational resources for patients and families, fostering support and engagement outside of therapy sessions.
• Occasionally participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring uninterrupted care throughout the recovery journey.
• Keep meticulous documentation, in accordance with state, federal, and organizational protocols.
• Remain abreast of advancements in the profession through continuing education and team discussions.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of starting employment.
