As a Medical Lab Tech, at NW Houghton, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best- providing quality care to our patients. Requirements:

• Certification through ASCP (or equivalent) is preferred,
• familiarity with Cerner is a plus.

About the Job:

• Performs moderate and high complexity tests in the hospital clinical laboratory, both automated and manual.
• Ensures that specimens are appropriate for test methodologies.
• Documents all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed per departmental policy.
• Assists customers with information regarding laboratory testing in a pleasant and professional manner. Ensures that all tests are performed within turnaround time limits with review of pending logs and stat boards to maintain compliance.
• Performs and documents all corrective action taken when systems deviate from laboratory established performance criteria.
• Consistently uses critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and correct issues that may adversely affect test performance or patient results.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of laboratory medicine is expected.
