Job Description & Requirements Specialty : OR - Operating Room Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 30 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 33 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Local Contract Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) The OR RN provides perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in a fast paced acute care setting. This role supports safe patient care before, during, and immediately after surgery while working closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and the surgical team. Responsibilities Perform pre operative assessments, verify consents, check allergies, and complete required safety checklists Circulate during surgical procedures, ensuring sterile technique, correct positioning, and patient safety throughout the case Prepare the operating room, instruments, equipment, and supplies according to procedure needs Assist the surgical team with intraoperative needs, manage specimens, and maintain accurate counts of instruments and sharps Provide handoff and report to PACU or next level of care and complete timely, accurate documentation in the EMR Requirements Active RN license in the state of practice or compact Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience Current BLS, ACLS preferred per facility requirements Strong knowledge of sterile technique, perioperative safety standards, and OR workflows Excellent attention to detail and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K offered.
