Opportunity : RN - NICU

Job Details :

  • Work three 12-hour shifts per week with requirement to work one extra shift every 3 weeks during high census periods
  • Care for patients ranging from 23 weeks gestation up to 1 year old in a highly surgical level 4 NICU
  • Handle complex diagnoses including PPHN, bowel perforation / NEC, BPD, tracheostomy / G-button evaluations, pre-op cardiac anomalies, gastroschisis, and hydrocephalus
  • Maintain patient ratios of 2-3 patients during days, nights, and weekends
  • Float to PICU, CCU, or med surg floors as needed for patients with compatible skill sets
  • 24 hours of orientation provided
  • 2 years of nursing experience required with travel experience preferred
  • Required certifications : BLS, NRP
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
  • Must be competent in administration of blood products, central line care, ventilator management, developmental care, and specialized NICU procedures
  • Work with high-acuity patients requiring specialist care and surgical interventions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, and pharmacy
  • Flu vaccine required with medical / religious exemptions only
  • Two pre-approved time off periods allowed per contract

    • Facility :

    This children's hospital operates a highly specialized level 4 NICU with 48 beds across 46 rooms, maintaining a daily census of approximately 32 patients. The facility provides comprehensive care for the most critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients, featuring advanced equipment including Drager / Servo / Trilogy ventilators, central lines, NIRS monitors, and specialized neonatal care technology. The unit emphasizes high-acuity care with strong interdisciplinary support services and maintains excellent staffing ratios to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
