Job Summary
The Fleet & Equipment Services Manager is responsible for managing the Company's maintenance management systems and processes for over-the-road, mobile powered equipment and ready-mix plants. This position will support operations and is responsible for developing data-driven frameworks to guide acquisition, maintenance, and divestiture decisions.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Develop and implement strategic, long-term plans for fleet and equipment lifecycle management, including acquisition, maintenance, and divestiture.Establish performance benchmarks and KPIs to evaluate fleet efficiency and cost-effectiveness of maintenance programs.Develop and manage budgets for maintenance programs and capital expenditures.Oversee the Company's maintenance management systems and data integrity for over-the-road, mobile powered equipment and ready-mix plants.Works with operations leaders to ensure compliance with prescribed preventive and corrective maintenance schedules; ensure activities are optimized to minimize downtime and extend asset life.Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Company's light-duty vehicle fleet.Build and maintain analytical frameworks and tools to support data-driven decision-making across fleet operations; incorporates asset generated and external data sources.Monitor equipment utilization, maintenance costs, and reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities.Manage the Company's telematics and OEM monitoring systems to integrate into lifecycle analytics and address real-time performance issues.Coordinate with HSE and operations to ensure fleet operations comply with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.Lead initiatives to improve safety performance and reduce risk across fleet and plant operations.Responsible for the leadership, management and development of a team of analysts and telematic technicians.Develop cross-functional continuous improvement programs to enhance the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of maintenance programs and procedures.Manages the Company's fuel and oil analysis programs.Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.Qualifications
Education & Experience
7+ years of progressively responsible related experience, including at least 3 years of leadership experience in a similar role OR an equivalent combination of education and experience requiredAt least 5 years of asset management experience preferredExperience with fleet telematics preferredRelevant heavy machinery industry experience preferredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
Familiarity with basic DOT requirementsFamiliarity with government regulations / policies and advising stakeholders on the company's internal requirementsFamiliarity with truck specifications ranging from medium duty to heavy trucksProactive, well-organized, and effective time management skills with the ability to lead and participate in multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of vehicle procurement and fleet contract negotiationsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work at all levels in the organizationKnowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical systemsIndependently drives projects to completion and leads with high energy and passionAbility to troubleshoot and provide guidanceGood mathematical skills including the ability to figure equations as required in analyzing fleet dataAbility to ensure accountability and instill trust with employees by following through on commitments and making sure others do the sameMust be able to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholdersAbility to travel occasionally for work to field locations and / or to attend meetings or trainingAbility to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends as requiredProficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Physical Requirements
