DESCRIPTION :
Act as the Senior Data Systems Operations Team representative who coordinates and processes the receipt, logging, archiving, and distribution of real-time telemetry, monitor, radio science, tracking and command information between the Deep Space Network and individual spacecraft projects.
- Act as the central controlling point for TT&C configuration and data delivery during real-time, system development, and testing operational activities. Advises and directs DSOT Controllers for all TT&C activities. Performs quality and continuity telemetry data checking, submitting and processing appropriate data recalls in accordance with project requirements. Interface with flight projects, development personnel and testers on technical system related problems. Maintains prime resource allocation and configuration of approximately 42 core computers in addition to providing user assistance for over 300 project workstations. Under general direction of the JPL DDOSO management, and immediate supervision of the PERATON / DSN DSOT Manager, performs critical work in support of multiple spacecraft. Work is technical, complex, project specific and customer oriented. The unpredictable nature of this real-time position defies prediction of time allocation across the job components. Supervision and performance of correct system configuration and data broadcast which are critical for the validity and efficiency of real-time project decisions and spacecraft commanding.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Eight years progressive experience in data processing of which at least four are working with network systems. Must know system configuration, debugging techniques, testing philosophies, problem isolation techniques, UNIX and some C-shell and Perl programming.EDUCATION CONTRACT EQUIVALENT STATEMENT :
