This position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all activities of the Bureau of Prevention which is primarily responsible for the fire prevention and regulatory activities. The bureau is composed of four sections, operating nine field offices throughout the state, a headquarters office and the Miami-Dade Construction Mining Program. Staff are assigned responsibilities involving the inspections of state-owned and state leased buildings, plans review for new state construction or renovation to any state-owned or leased properties, boiler safety inspections, and regulatory oversite and licensing for five major industries. Incumbent should have broad knowledge of code, legislative and rule development and the ability to cultivate and foster a wide range of stakeholder input within the areas of responsibility.
