Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate from an accredited school for Respiratory Therapy or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina, or be a senior student graduating in the next 3 months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Must possess a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in South Carolina or be eligible for licensure, or be a graduating senior. BLS certification is required. NBRC credentials are mandatory. Candidates hired prior to June 2016 may be Certified Respiratory Therapists.
For candidates hired post-June 2016, successful completion of the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam at the Registered Therapist cut score and the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation is required. Failure to pass the simulation exam within six months will result in termination from Prisma Health. NRP and PALS certifications are required in the Children's Hospital prior to unsupervised work in the NICU and PICU.
