Job Summary
- The Outreach and Enrollment Specialist conducts outreach activities to educate the community about available healthcare services, assists individuals with program enrollment, and ensures patients understand their coverage options and benefits.
- The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for medical and dental patients and is responsible for welcoming patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, entering medical record data, and taking payments.
Job Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED18 years of age or olderBilingual (English / Spanish) preferredCertified Application Counselor (CAC) experience preferred; must be willing to complete training and certification to become a CAC within a designated timeframe.Knowledge of insurance programs and public coverage options preferredMedical or dental reception experience preferred, but not requiredExcellent interpersonal communication and customer service skillsAbility to identify, prioritize, and complete tasks with limited supervision.Reliable transportation. Limited travel to other sites for cross-coverage possible (Basic computer skills. Experience with EMR documentation a plus.Proof of current immunizations will be requested upon hire.Essential Duties / Responsibilities :
Provide insurance enrollment assistance and financial advocacy.Provide structured patient education on health coverage, engage in follow-up conversations and offer renewal assistance for enrolled individuals.Distribute outreach materials to patients, community members, partner organizations and businesses to build coverage option awareness.Develop, discover and attend community events in order to promote coverage options and the mission and services of the organization.Assist in planning and implementation of organizational outreach and enrollment initiatives, including the annual Mountainlands Health Fair.Greet and welcomes patientsPerform all check-in tasks including verifying income, updating patient information and completing required forms.Collect payments for services.Communicate with patient in person and via phone callsCreate patient cases in EMR as neededCommunicate frequently with providers and other care team membersNot an exhaustive list of all potential dutiesPhysical elements of position :
