Position Overview
Global is currently seeking Marine Services Technicians to join our team located in Seattle, WA. This person will be responsible for safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally compliant deckhand duties. This is an entry-level, full-time position with a rotating schedule. See below for additional information on the typical work schedule.
- Assist with the towing, deploying, and stowing of the oil containment boom
- Handle mooring lines and rigging to launch or dock the boat
- Perform lookout duties while underway - including watching for other vessels and monitoring traffic and potentially unsafe conditions onboard and otherwise
- Splices and repairs cables and ropes using hand tools
- Small vessel operation
- Boom and Fender maintenance
- Driving / positioning company vehicles
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
All employees must be legally authorized to work in the United StatesMust have a valid driver's license and valid car insurance, and submit a driving record for the past three yearsMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background checkMust possess or be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) cardMust possess or be able to obtain a First Aid / CPR certificateMust possess or be able to obtain a Washington State Boater Education cardAbility to lift from floor to waist, push and pull up to 50lbs occasionally up to 12 times per shiftAbility to work any day of the week, both night and dayMust be able to withstand the following for up to 12 hours per day in all weather conditions (Sun, Rain, Sleet, and Snow) : stand, sit, walk, push, pull, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, repetitive reaching, and repetitive band use24-hour and seven-day-a-week availability for the duration of the working seasonAbility to work any day of the week, both night and dayRequired Experience
High School Diploma or equivalentMust be 18 years of age or older.Preferred Credentials

Ability to work any day of the week, both night and dayAvailable for after-hours emergency responseAbility to travel to project sites and work approximately 30 days at a time.Ability to complete a pre-employment drug test and participate in a random drug and alcohol testing program.Ability to complete a background check.Ability to lift from floor to waist, push and pull up to 70lbs occasionally up to 12 times per shift.Must be able to withstand the following for up to 12 hours per day in all weather conditions (Sun, Rain, Sleet, and Snow) : stand, sit, walk, push, pull, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, repetitive reaching, and repetitive hand use.Ability to meet DOT, USCG, or HAZMAT physical & additional fitness ability requirements for the position.Schedule
Must be available to work 40 to 50 hours per workweek.Rest period after each shiftMust be available on a variable basis.Employees must be available for a large percentage of available work and attentive to communications for job scheduling changes.Compensation and Benefits
Hourly rate for candidates in Seattle, WA : $21 - $26
