Major Responsibilities :

• Positioning of patients and proper selection of technical factors and equipment to obtain scans of optimal quality making use of any necessary immobilization techniques

1)Positions, transfers and immobilizes patients for procedures to ensure optimal quality exams are obtained.

1)Obtains patient history to ensure that the radiologist will have pertinent information explaining why the diagnostic test is being performed.

1)Maintains annual CPR certification to further ensure safety of patients in department.

1)Maintains correct patient records as required. Assembles daily patient schedules and prepares patient folders to enable the department to properly preserve patient's records.

Addendum : Advocate Confidential - March 11, 2002 Associate Access to Patient Information Under the federal patient information privacy rules, health-care providers are expected to take "reasonable safeguards" to prevent inappropriate uses and disclosures of patient information. In addition, the privacy rules require that only the "minimum necessary" patient information that is needed to care for of the patient or to perform other work is accessed by staff or associates. This rule applies to all associates and volunteers who work with patients or with patient information and requires that the patient information each associates needs to access be documented. This is done best by including a provision in the associate's job description that identifies the level of access to patient information the associate requires. All associate job descriptions must be revised to include this provision by March 1, 2003. Managers should work with Human Resources to update all job descriptions and should review their level of access to patient information with all associates, and review the access level with associates annually. Associates need to be aware of the types of patient information, behavioral health information and IS systems they have access to, and report inappropriate system access to their manager. The following template, which will be an attachment to each job description, has been developed to make the required job description changes. Check the appropriate level of access in each of the four parts of form. The level of access refers to access to the paper patient record, as well as any computerized patient information. All four parts of the template must be completed : Part I This positions requires : 1. no access to patient information 2. access to the fact that the patient is present at the facility 3. access to patient demographic information (name, address, phone number, insurance information, etc. ) 4. access to patient demographic and insurance information
